Viktoria Plzen vs Levski Sofia (1 - 2)
Levski Sofia won 2-1 at Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on Thursday night, scoring twice either side of a home equaliser to leave the Czech side without a point. Everton Bala put the visitors ahead in the 44th minute, with Reinaldo setting him up. Plzen levelled in the 62nd minute when Christophe Kabongo scored from a corner delivered by Cheick Souare. The home side did not enjoy the equaliser for long. Three minutes later Reinaldo got the goal himself, with Maicon providing the pass, and that was the winner. Plzen had far more efforts on target, 12 to 2 by one count, but could not find another goal. Reinaldo went off injured in the 82nd minute. There were no penalties or red cards, and Stefan Pirgic was booked for the hosts late on. The result leaves Levski on four points from three games. Plzen have lost all three, with two goals scored and seven conceded.
Omonia Nicosia vs Benfica (1 - 4)
Benfica beat Omonia 4-1 in Nicosia on Thursday and kept their perfect start to the Europa League league phase, with three goals in the last 40 minutes after a level first half. The visitors went ahead in the 15th minute when a shot from Claudio Echeverri was turned into his own net by Nego. Andronikos Kakoullis levelled just before the break, heading in a Jaden Montnor cross for his first goal of the season. Vangelis Pavlidis put Benfica back in front in the 49th minute, finishing the rebound after goalkeeper Fabiano saved an Alexander Bah shot. Pavlidis then hit the post, and Fredrik Aursnes made it 3-1 in the 76th after Omonia lost the ball while playing out from the back. Gianluca Prestianni added the fourth in the 85th, tapping into an empty net from a Dodi Lukébakio pass. Tomás Araújo was the only player booked. Benfica have nine points from three games, following wins over Milan and Celtic. Omonia stay on six points, with this their first defeat after beating Celje and Celta Vigo.
Olympiakos vs Sparta Prague (1 - 0)
Olympiacos Piraeus beat Sparta Prague 1-0 at the Karaiskakis Stadium in the Europa League, and the only goal came with 12 minutes left. It was goalless at the break, with the hosts doing most of the pressing and the visitors' better chances deflected off target. The breakthrough arrived in the 78th minute. FotMob records it as an own goal by Sparta's Sivert Mannsverk, while Sports Mole credits Armando González, so the scorer is not settled between the two. Referee Espen Eskås booked six players. Sparta collected four yellows, for Jaroslav Zelený (29th), Roman Macek (38th), Ebrima Singhateh (77th) and Martin Suchomel (80th). Jota Silva and Gelson Martins were cautioned for Olympiacos late on. Substitute Chiquinho was named player of the match by FotMob. Olympiacos had 23 shots to Sparta's 14 and took 60 per cent of the ball. The win lifts them to nine points from three games, with three wins out of three. Sparta had won once and drawn once before this match and are still looking for their second victory.
Lillestrøm vs Real Sociedad (0 - 6)
Real Sociedad won 6-0 at Lillestrom in the Europa League on Thursday night, their first win in this season's competition. The visitors were three goals up by the 33rd minute and the home side never found a way back into it. Sergio Gómez scored in the 25th and 27th minutes, and Mikel Oyarzabal set up both. Oyarzabal also supplied the pass for Luka Sučić to make it 3-0 in the 33rd. Lillestrom had a chance to answer just after the restart, but Thomas Lehne Olsen missed a penalty in the 46th minute, with Unai Marrero saving it for the visitors. Orri Óskarsson came off the bench and made it 4-0 in the 64th, Sučić added his second in the 72nd and Arsen Zakharyan completed the scoring in the 80th. For Real Sociedad it is a first victory in the competition and a six-goal margin that will matter if the table is close. Lillestrom leave Åråsen with nothing, having failed to score and wasted their best chance.
Jagiellonia Białystok vs Anderlecht (0 - 3)
Anderlecht left Bialystok with a 3-0 win over Jagiellonia, their first victory in this season's Europa League after two defeats to open the campaign. The visitors had been under pressure heading into the night, and coach Vitor Bruno had even called the hosts favourites beforehand. Mihajlo Cvetkovic put the Belgians ahead in the 21st minute after Hampus Finndell gave the ball away. Anderlecht had most of the first half, with six shots in the opening 20 minutes to none for the Poles. After the break Jagiellonia came back into it. Nik Prelec headed at Coosemans, and a penalty appeal after a clash between Sow and Biancone was turned down. Marten Winkler made it 0-2 in the 72nd minute after good work from substitute Enric Llansana. Eight minutes later 17-year-old Jayden Onia Seke scored his first European goal for the club. Three players were booked on each side. The result leaves Anderlecht on 3 points from 3 games, 22nd in the 36-team table. Jagiellonia stay on 3 points. Anderlecht host Gent on Sunday.
Hoffenheim vs Lyon (3 - 0)
Hoffenheim beat Lyon 3-0 at the SNP Arena in Sinsheim on Thursday night, taking their first win of this Europa League campaign. The game was goalless until the very end of the first half. Andrej Kramaric scored in the 45th minute plus four, after a scramble in the box and a Lyon clearance that came back off the line. Ahmad Daghim added a second four minutes after the restart (49th), and Adam Hlozek made it 3-0 in the 83rd. Lyon had the first real chance through Nakamura in the 10th minute, and Boudache forced a block from Baumann in the 37th. After the break they barely threatened. Hoffenheim finished with 21 shots to eight, and eight of those were on target. Mats Rots, Wouter Burger and Ozan Kabak were booked for the home side. Moussa Niakhate was booked for Lyon after the final whistle. Hoffenheim have three points from three games and sit 23rd in the table. Lyon stay 12th on six points after their first defeat of the phase.
Celtic vs Celta Vigo (1 - 2)
Celta Vigo beat Celtic 2-1 at Celtic Park in the Europa League league phase, and two goals in four minutes from Javi Rodríguez decided it. Javi Rodríguez scored in the 68th minute, with Hugo Álvarez credited with the assist, and added a second in the 71st. Celtic had 56% of the possession, but it did not stop them losing. The sources I found did not name the scorer of the home side's goal. Both clubs came into the match with two defeats from their first two league phase games, so this was the first win for Celta Vigo in the competition. Celtic now have three defeats from three.
Celje vs Salzburg (2 - 2)
Celje were two goals behind inside a minute of the second half and still left with a point, drawing 2-2 with Salzburg in the Europa League. The equaliser came in the 90th minute. Sota Kitano gave the visitors the lead after nine minutes, finishing after a pass from Damir Redzic. Jesper Lindstrom came off the bench and scored 22 seconds after the restart to make it 2-0. Celje had hit the post through Tusha in the first half, and they pulled one back in the 50th minute when Blaz Kramer finished into the far corner. Haris Tabakovic missed a chance to restore the two-goal lead late on. Then Armandas Kucys scored from close range in the 90th minute after Salzburg failed to clear. No cards or penalties were reported. The Slovenian champions had lost to Bayer Leverkusen and Omonia Nicosia without scoring, so they now have one point and their first goals of the competition. Salzburg, beaten 4-0 by AC Milan last time out, move from three points to four.
AFC Bournemouth vs AC Milan (3 - 0)
Bournemouth beat AC Milan 3-0 at the Vitality Stadium, and the match turned on the sending off of goalkeeper Mike Maignan before the half hour. The hosts were in front after eight minutes. Evanilson headed the ball against the arm of Jan Bart De Winter, and after a VAR check the referee pointed to the spot. Justin Kluivert converted. Then came the red card. Maignan, the Milan captain, struck Adams in the face during a corner and was dismissed straight away. The sources differ by a minute or two on the exact time. Marcus Tavernier scored the second penalty in the 32nd minute. Milan, down to ten men, offered little in reply. Amine Adli made it 3-0 with a free kick in the 84th minute. Bournemouth have now won all three of their Europa League games and have nine points. Milan stay on three points after a second defeat in the competition, and a top eight finish is now under threat.
Besiktas vs Crystal Palace (2 - 2)
Besiktas finished with ten men and still came away with a point, drawing 2-2 with Crystal Palace in the Europa League at the Tüpraş Stadium on Wednesday night. Wilfred Ndidi put the hosts in front in first-half stoppage time (45+2). Palace came back quickly after the break. Yeremy Pino levelled in the 51st minute, a goal that was first flagged offside before VAR let it stand, and Jean-Philippe Mateta made it 2-1 to the visitors four minutes later. Junior Olaitan brought Besiktas level in the 73rd minute. Soon afterwards Ümit Akdağ was sent off for a hard challenge on Strand Larsen, with the red card shown around the 77th or 78th minute depending on the source. No penalties were given. Besiktas have 7 points from three games and are still unbeaten in the league phase. Crystal Palace have 4 points. The hosts travel to Celtic on 5 November.
Thun vs Hajduk Split (0 - 1)
No match report for Thun v Hajduk Split on 22 October 2026 could be found, so I haven't written a recap. The searches returned only previews, broadcast listings and a live-score page. The Sofascore page snippet suggested Hajduk led 1-0 through Dalisson de Almeida in the 17th minute. I couldn't open the page to check that, and it doesn't confirm the final score, any other events or the match context. Writing a recap from that would mean inventing facts. Try again once outlets such as UEFA.com or Sky Sports have published reports.
Monaco vs Freiburg (3 - 0)
Monaco beat Freiburg 3-0 at the Stade Louis II on Thursday night. They led by one goal for most of the game, then added two more in the closing minutes. Paris Brunner opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time (45+2), set up by Edan Diop. It was his eighth goal in nine games this season. The second came in the 83rd minute. Ansu Fati had a shot saved by Mio Backhaus, and Lamine Camara put away the rebound. Fati then scored himself in the 91st minute, with Matthis Abline providing the pass. Freiburg had 12 shots, but only one hit the target, and Lukas Hradecky saved it. Yannik Engelhardt went off injured after 14 minutes. Coach Julian Schuster was booked for complaining. Monaco move up to sixth with six points from two games, inside the top eight. Freiburg are 18th on three points, in the playoff places.
Midtjylland vs Sint-Truiden (0 - 1)
St. Truiden won 1-0 away at Midtjylland in the Conference League on Thursday night in Herning. They hit the woodwork three times, and the visitors' goalkeeper was still needed late on to protect the lead. The only goal came three minutes before the break. Robert-Jan Vanwesemael sent a cross in from the flank and Frederic Soèllé headed it home from close range in the 42nd minute. Midtjylland had the better of the early pressure, but St. Truiden finished with around 58% of the possession. Mbuku struck the right post in the 23rd minute, and Ilias Sebaoui hit the same post in the 77th and the crossbar in the 86th. At the other end the St. Truiden keeper kept out a Friday Etim shot in the 63rd minute. Pedro Bravo was booked for Midtjylland and came off at half-time with an injury. Ryan Merlen was replaced by the visitors in the 72nd minute. The win lifts St. Truiden into the upper part of the league phase table. Midtjylland remain near the bottom after a second round defeat on home soil.
Lincoln Red Imps vs Twente (1 - 4)
No match report could be written. I searched twice and found no published articles on Lincoln Red Imps vs Twente. The only results were fixture listings, live-score shells and previews, and the match was still listed as not started. None of them gave a final score, scorers, minutes or events, so I have nothing to base a recap on beyond the 1-4 you supplied. Writing goal scorers or incidents without sources would mean inventing them. Try again once match reports from UEFA.com, Sky Sports or Dutch outlets are live.
Sporting Braga vs Gent (2 - 0)
Braga beat Gent 2-0 at home in the Conference League on Thursday night, with a goal in the third minute and another in the 76th. Víctor Gómez put the hosts ahead almost straight away, finishing a move that Gorby set up. After that the match settled into a scrappy spell. Three players were booked before the break: Barisic for Gent in the 27th minute, Paskotsi in the 32nd and Tiago Sá in the 40th. Both goalkeepers were kept busy, with Braga's Ricardo Horta among those denied. The second goal came from Martínez, who had been on the pitch for only five minutes after replacing Gabriel Silva. Gómez provided the pass. A VAR check followed, and the 2-0 scoreline stood at full time. There were no red cards and no penalties. It was Braga's answer to the 3-0 defeat at FC Copenhagen in their previous Conference League game, and it came on matchday two of the league phase. Gent leave Portugal without a goal.
Borac Banja Luka vs KuPS (2 - 0)
Borac Banja Luka beat KuPS 2-0 at home on Thursday night, collecting their first win in this season's Conference League after a 2-1 defeat at Panathinaikos on the opening matchday. Savić opened the scoring in the 29th minute with a shot from around 20 metres. It took a deflection off a KuPS player and beat goalkeeper Kreidl. Borac led 1-0 at the break and doubled the lead five minutes after the restart. Deket finished past the keeper in the 50th minute, set up by Juričić. KuPS never found a way back. Juričić hit the crossbar in the 87th minute, though the effort was ruled out for offside. No penalties were given. Herrera was booked for Borac in the 78th minute, and Lötjönen went into the book for the Finns in stoppage time. For Borac it is three points on the board after one loss. KuPS have now lost both games, having gone down 4-2 at home to Trabzonspor in round one. Their next match is at home to Gent on 5 November.
Ajax vs Atalanta (2 - 0)
Ajax beat Atalanta 2-0 at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, and both goals came in the last few minutes after a goalless 86. It was their first win in this season's Conference League, following the 2-1 defeat at Hajduk Split on matchday one. Ajax made the better start. Rosa hit the inside of the post and a goal from Mokio was ruled out for offside against Klaassen. Brandt threatened twice early in the second half, then Atalanta worked their way into the game. Zalewski wasted a good counterattack chance for the visitors. Tolu Arokodare, on as a substitute, broke the deadlock in the 87th minute. Youri Baas played a long ball, Arokodare held off his marker and finished past Carnesecchi. In the 93rd minute substitute Abdellah Ouazane dribbled into the box and curled a shot in off the underside of the bar. Ajax now have three points and, according to one report, sit 13th in the league phase. Atalanta lost 3-2 to AC Milan last Sunday and leave Amsterdam with a second straight defeat.
AGF vs Egnatia Rrogozhinë (1 - 1)
AGF played almost the whole match with ten men and still came away from Randers with a 1-1 draw against Egnatia in the Conference League. The home side were in trouble after three minutes, when Eric Kahl was shown a red card for a professional foul. Egnatia took the lead in the 13th minute. Ildi Gruda finished from the left side of the box after a fast break, set up by Daniel Adjessa. Jesper Hansen then kept AGF level at the break with saves from Albano Aleksi and Altin Kryeziu. AGF equalised four minutes after half-time. James Bogere, who came on at the interval, hit a shot from outside the box in the 49th minute, played through by Sebastian Jørgensen. Egnatia had 66% of the ball and 13 shots to AGF's nine, but picked up five yellow cards and could not find a winner. The point leaves AGF with something to show for a night that began with a sending off, while Egnatia will wonder how they failed to beat ten men.
Sturm Graz vs Marseille (1 - 0)
Sturm Graz beat Marseille 1-0 in the Europa League on Thursday night, and the visitors are still waiting for their first point after three games. The decider was an error from the back in the opening minutes. Oumar Diakité scored in the 13th minute (one report has it a minute earlier). Young defender Nouhoum Kamissoko misplayed a pass out from defence, Weinhandl won the ball and set up Diakité, who ran in and beat Jeffrey de Lange with his right foot. Marseille had most of the ball, around 74 per cent after the break, but managed just one shot on target all night. Keyliane Abdallah hit the post just before half-time. De Lange made several saves at the other end to keep the margin at one. No cards were shown. For Marseille it is a third straight European defeat, after losses to Besiktas and Olympiacos, and they sit 34th of 36. Next up is a trip to Bayer Leverkusen in early November. Sturm Graz collect their first win of the campaign.
Union Saint-Gilloise vs Hapoel Be'er Sheva (4 - 0)
Royale Union SG beat H. Beer Sheva 4-0 in the Europa League league phase, in a match played in Düsseldorf behind closed doors after Leuven refused to host it. The visitors started the better side and hit the woodwork through I. Zlatanović in the 38th minute, but the game turned right at the break. Raul Florucz, on for the injured Mateo Biondic in the 14th minute, won and scored a penalty in first-half stoppage time after Rotman fouled him. Ten minutes into the second half, a Guilherme Smith shot took a deflection off Rotman and went in (one record credits Smith, another gives Rotman an own goal). Dylan Aquino, a first-half replacement for the injured D. Olaru, made it 3-0 in the 77th minute, and Smith added a fourth in the 81st, set up by Denzel De Roeve. There were no red cards. Union stay unbeaten in the competition with 7 points from three games and visit Celta Vigo on 5 November. Beer Sheva have one point from their opening games and need results to stay in the top 24.
OFI vs Bayer Leverkusen (0 - 2)
Bayer Leverkusen won 0-2 at OFI Crete in Heraklion, and both goals came from one man in the space of three minutes. Jonas Hofmann, only called up on Tuesday as cover for the injured Martin Terrier, was the difference. The home side had the first real chance, Thiago Nuss forcing a save from Janis Blaswich around the 10th minute. Blaswich was in goal in place of the usual keeper Mark Flekken. Leverkusen then took over. OFI keeper Klidman Lilo stopped efforts from Patrik Schick and Hofmann, but could do nothing about the opener in the 35th minute. A long shot from Afonso Moreira was parried and Hofmann tapped in from close range. He added a second in the 38th, finishing centrally from a pass by Malik Tillman. The second half belonged to Lilo. He denied Hofmann a hat-trick in the 50th minute, and Blaswich turned away a long effort from Charalampos Kostoulas. A deflected attempt from Taxiarchis Fountas in the 64th minute narrowly missed. It was Leverkusen's third win in three Europa League games, with no goals conceded, and their sixth in a row in all competitions. OFI have three points from three, after beating Hoffenheim and losing at Rennes.
Lech Poznań vs Sunderland (1 - 1)
Lech Poznan and Sunderland shared a 1-1 draw in the Europa League on Thursday night, a game that began almost before the home fans had found their seats and was only settled in the second half. Sunderland led after 78 seconds. Mateusz Lis played a poor pass out from the back, and Timur Tutierov punished it to make it 1-0 in the 2nd minute. The visitors then controlled much of the first half and created several chances, but Lis made a string of saves to keep the deficit at one. Jenson Danso collected the game's first yellow card in the 42nd minute for a high challenge. Lech Poznan grew in confidence after the break and made attacking changes. Substitute Leo Bengtsson levelled in the 70th minute, finishing from a corner. Neither side found a winner after that, although Sunderland finished with 25 shots to Lech's 16. Both clubs are back in action on 5 November. Sunderland host Dinamo Zagreb, while Lech Poznan travel to Benfica.
Juventus vs Rennes (2 - 2)
Juventus were denied a winner in the 88th minute when a goal from Jhon Lucumi was ruled out for offside after a VAR check. That left the Europa League game at the Allianz Stadium level at 2-2 against Rennes. Zeki Celik put the home side ahead after five minutes, finishing a counter-attack that Nick Woltemade set up. Mousa Al-Tamari levelled in the 15th, converting from close range after a header by Bryan Reynolds. Just before the break Douglas Luiz handled the ball in his own area, and Boulaye Dia scored the penalty to put Rennes in front. Juventus got their own spot kick in the 67th minute, when Reynolds handled a header by Nico Gonzalez. Woltemade scored it, his third goal in three games in the competition. The draw leaves Juventus fourth with seven points from three games, though they have now failed to win their last two Europa League matches. It followed a 3-0 home loss to Lazio in Serie A. Rennes sit 13th on five points, with no defeat so far.
Ferencváros vs Torreense (4 - 1)
Ferencvaros beat Torreense 4-1 in the Europa League on Thursday night, though the game was level at the break and only opened up in the second half. Bamidele Yusuf put the hosts ahead in the 20th minute, but Manu Pozo levelled three minutes later and it stayed 1-1 until half-time. Mariano Gomez restored the lead in the 58th minute. Torreense then gave away the third themselves, when Mohamed Ali Diadie turned the ball into his own net in the 80th minute. Krisztian Lisztes added the fourth in the 89th, set up by Lenny Joseph. It was a bookable night rather than a bloody one. There were six yellow cards, three of them for Ferencvaros players in the second half, but no red cards and no penalties. For Ferencvaros it is a home win with three goals scored after the hour mark. Torreense scored once and also put one into their own goal.
Dinamo Zagreb vs NEC (2 - 4)
NEC Nijmegen took their first points of the Europa League campaign with a 4-2 win at Dinamo Zagreb, and the visitors had to come from behind in the first half to get them. Clement Bischoff put NEC in front on 25 minutes, finishing in the near corner after a long ball from Tobias Storm. Dion Drena Beljo then turned the game round for Dinamo, heading in a cross from Perez Vinlof on 33 and scoring again four minutes later after Stojkovic set him up on the break. Luka Ivanusec had a goal ruled out for offside around the same time. Bryan Linssen headed in an equaliser at the end of the half. NEC took the lead for the first time on 55 minutes through Tjaronn Chery, who scored after a Linssen cross. Chery added a long-range strike on 80 to make it 4-2. NEC had lost 5-0 to Juventus and drawn with Levski Sofia, so this was their first win. It is Dinamo's first defeat of the competition, and they travel to Sunderland on 5 November.
Ararat-Armenia vs AZ (0 - 4)
AZ Alkmaar won 4-0 at Ararat-Armenia in Yerevan on Thursday, a second win in a row in this season's Europa League. The game was effectively decided inside the first half hour, when the Dutch side scored twice. Valdemar Byskov opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a free kick. Six minutes later Weslley Patati made it 2-0, and that was the score at the break. Ararat-Armenia got nothing back after the interval. Patati added his second in the 76th minute, and Mexx Meerdink completed the scoring around the 79th. Mexican defender Mateo Chavez was on the AZ Alkmaar bench and did not get on. For AZ Alkmaar it is back-to-back wins in the league phase and a comfortable four-goal margin to take home. Ararat-Armenia have now lost three matches in a row in the competition, after a 4-1 home defeat to Sparta Prague in their opening game, and have yet to find a goal against this level of opposition tonight.
Trabzonspor vs Hearts (2 - 0)
Trabzonspor beat Hearts 2-0 at Papara Park in the Conference League, and a first-half penalty settled the direction of the night. The spot kick came in the 31st minute, when Magnusson brought down Franculino Dju inside the area. Mohamed Salah took responsibility from 12 yards and scored a minute later, in the 32nd by the official count, to put the hosts in front. Hearts had to come out and chase the game after that, but they found no way back. Midway through the second half Salah turned provider, and Dju finished to make it 2-0 in the 58th minute. The same player who won the penalty therefore added the second goal, with the Egyptian involved in both. The result gives Trabzonspor two wins from two in the competition and six points. Hearts leave Turkey with nothing and will need to find a response in their next league phase match.
Pafos vs Riga (1 - 1)
Pafos and Riga FC shared a 1-1 draw in Cyprus, and the visitors will feel they let something better slip. Caio Ferreira put Riga FC in front in the 67th minute, only for Biel to level nine minutes later. The first half was goalless but busy. Reginaldo Ramires had a goal ruled out for offside after a VAR check in the sixth minute, and Anderson saw one chalked off for Pafos soon after. Aouani hit the woodwork for the visitors in the 33rd minute, and by the break Riga FC had created the better chances. Ferreira scored in his first minute on the pitch, finishing after a cross from Oulad. Pafos improved after coach Sa Pinto made changes at half-time, and Biel drove a shot from inside the box after a pass from Sema. Bruno headed towards goal in stoppage time, but Piric blocked it. It is the first point of the league phase for Pafos, who lost their opener to Atalanta. Riga FC travel to Grobiņa in the Latvian league on 26 October.
Nordsjælland vs CSKA Sofia (2 - 2)
CSKA Sofia left Farum with a point after Leandro Godoy scored in the 88th minute to make it 2-2 against Nordsjaelland in the Conference League. The goal stood after a VAR review. Godoy had given the visitors the lead in the 8th minute, set up by Stefano Sensi. The hosts came back after the break through Ibrahim Adel, who levelled in the 55th minute from a Noah Markmann assist and put his side in front in the 67th with help from Alexander Lind. The game turned again in the 76th minute, when Justin Janssen picked up a second yellow card and Nordsjaelland had to play the last quarter of an hour a man short. Godoy took advantage twelve minutes later. Four more players were booked in stoppage time. It was gameweek two for both clubs, and each takes one point. CSKA Sofia put five shots on target to the hosts' three.
Kauno Zalgiris vs Brann (1 - 4)
Brann beat Kauno Zalgiris 4-1 in Kaunas in the Conference League, and Noah Holm scored three of the goals. The Norwegian side were ahead early. VAR looked at a handball by Anton Tolordava in the box in the 3rd minute, and Niklas Castro scored the penalty in the 7th. The hosts levelled five minutes later, when Renan Oliveira scored from close range after a corner, with VAR checking that goal as well. Then Holm took over. He headed in from the middle of the box in the 25th minute, set up by Joachim Soltvedt, and hit a right-footed shot from outside the area in the 40th, set up by Eggert Gudmundsson. His third was another header in the 85th, from a Kristian Eriksen assist. The home side collected five yellow cards, the last of them for Aldayr Hernandez in the 90th minute. Brann had one booking and no sendings off. The win is Brann's first in this league phase, in matchday 2. Kauno Zalgiris have a lot to do after this one.
Jablonec vs Brighton & Hove Albion (0 - 0)
Jablonec and Brighton finished 0-0 in the Conference League in the Czech Republic, a rare goalless draw for the English side. Brighton had far the better of the chances but could not find a way past the home goalkeeper. According to Sofascore's numbers, Brighton had 26 shots to nine for Jablonec, yet each side hit the target four times. The visitors' expected goals figure was 1.37, against 0.73 for the hosts. Jablonec sat deep and made 64 clearances to Brighton's 10, and picked up four yellow cards to their opponents' one. Jack Hinshelwood had an early shot saved by Jan Hanus, and the same keeper denied Rutter in stoppage time when his snapshot looked set to settle it. Brighton made eight changes from the 5-0 Premier League win over Crystal Palace, and it was Fabian Hürzeler's 100th game in charge. The point leaves Brighton on four from two games after their 4-0 win over Kauno Žalgiris. Jablonec had lost their opener 3-2 to Freiburg, so they now have a point from two.
Inter Club d'Escaldes vs Universitatea Craiova (1 - 3)
Universitatea Craiova won 3-1 at Inter Escaldes in their second Conference League league-phase game, and had the match largely settled inside five minutes. Assad Al-Hamlawi scored in the 3rd minute and Stefan Baiaram added a second in the 5th. The Romanian champions then lost some of their edge. Baiaram said afterwards that his team could have scored more and that they eased off after the break. The hosts took advantage of that. Borja Arellano pulled one back in the 77th minute, which made the final stretch uncomfortable for Craiova. Simon Elisor put the result beyond doubt late on. Sources differ on the exact minute, with 86 and 88 both reported. It is Craiova's first win in the league phase. They now have four points, after a 1-1 draw with Getafe on the opening matchday. Inter Escaldes had lost their first game away to Mjallby. Craiova are at home to Egnatia on 5 November.
Saburtalo vs Mjällby (1 - 1)
Iberia 1999 and Mjällby drew 1-1 in Tbilisi, with the visitors leveling in the 89th minute after trailing since early in the second half. The match was played at the 27,000-capacity Mikheil Meskhi Stadium, well away from Iberia's usual small home ground, and stayed goalless until the break. Shortly after the restart Jemali-Giorgi Jinjolava put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot. Villiam Granath brought down an opponent from behind just inside the box, and VAR confirmed the decision. Mjällby had the better of the chances, finishing with 18 shots to seven, and Jacob Bergström hit the crossbar soon after the penalty. They only got their reward late on. Bergström headed the ball on in a scramble and Tom Pettersson scored from the chaos that followed. Their travelling fans had been loud all night. The point leaves Mjällby with a win and a draw from two league phase games. They have little time to dwell on it, with Hammarby at Strandvallen in the Allsvenskan on Sunday.
Getafe vs Lugano (2 - 5)
Lugano won 5-2 at Getafe in the Conference League on Thursday night, and the match was effectively settled inside the first half hour. Iván Azón gave the hosts the lead after two minutes, but Lugano had three goals on the board by the 26th. Albian Ajeti equalised in the 3rd minute, set up by Daniel Dos Santos. Yanis Cimignani put the visitors ahead in the 7th, and Ajeti added his second in the 26th from a Dereck Moncada assist. Uran Bislimi made it 4-1 in the 50th, even though José Bordalás had made four changes at the break. Borja Mayoral pulled one back in the 74th, and Getafe then created several good chances without scoring. Kevin Behrens finished it on the counter in the 92nd minute. The numbers were odd. Up to the 68th minute Getafe had 13 shots to eight and 53% of the ball, but Lugano's expected goals figure was 1.75 against 0.60, and they scored with half of their efforts. Lugano have six points from two games, after beating Red Star Belgrade 3-2, and are unbeaten. Getafe have one point, from a 1-1 draw at Craiova, with three goals scored and six conceded.
Red Star Belgrade vs FC Copenhagen (2 - 2)
Crvena zvezda and FC Copenhagen finished 2-2 in Belgrade on Thursday night in the Conference League. The hosts turned the game around before half-time, then ended it with ten men. Copenhagen went in front in the 29th minute, when Matej Gashtarov put the ball into his own net. Crvena zvezda answered within five minutes. Timi Elsnik levelled in the 34th, set up by Vladimir Lucic, and Vasilije Kostov made it 2-1 in the 41st from a Mihailo Ristic assist. The Danish side found their equaliser in the 70th minute. Maher Carrizo scored it, with Akos Markgraf providing the final pass. Deep in stoppage time, Stefan Gudelj was shown a straight red card for a professional foul, so Crvena zvezda had to see out the closing seconds a man short. Elsnik was rated the best player on the pitch. For Crvena zvezda it is a point at home after leading at the break, and Gudelj's red card brings a suspension. Their next game is at home to Inter Club d'Escaldes on 5 November.
Al Fateh vs Al Shabab (1 - 3)
Al Shabab won 3-1 away at Al Fateh in round 11 of the Pro League on Thursday, with defender Ali Al-Bulaihi scoring twice in his first goals of the season. Ricardo Mathias da Silva opened the scoring in the 17th minute from a Roger Martinez assist. Al-Bulaihi made it 2-0 in the 31st minute, heading in a rebound after the home goalkeeper had parried. Al Fateh pulled one back in the 40th minute through Lukas Haraslin, set up by Wilfried Kanga. Al-Bulaihi restored the two-goal lead in the 54th minute, finishing with his left foot from a cross by Yacine Adli. Al Fateh then lost Ziyad Al Jari, who was sent off after two yellow cards in the 71st and 74th minutes. Al Shabab had 25 shots to 16 and put 10 on target to the home side's three, though they lost Adli and Daniel Podence to injury late on. For Al Shabab the night also belonged to Al-Bulaihi, who now has 22 league goals, a record for a defender in the competition. Al Fateh head into the next round with ten-man frustration and a fourth defeat to chase down.
Kairat vs Panathinaikos (1 - 5)
Panathinaikos made light of a long trip to Kazakhstan, beating Kairat Almaty 5-1 on Thursday in the Conference League. The Greek side were two goals up inside 25 minutes and never looked like losing the lead. Vicente Taborda opened the scoring in the 6th minute, set up by Georgios Kyriakopoulos. Cyriel Dessers doubled the advantage from the penalty spot in the 24th minute, and he added a second shortly after the restart. Substitute Kings Kangwa made it four, and Elmin Rastoder got the fifth, with sources giving slightly different minutes for those two. Ismail Bekbolat, also off the bench, pulled one back for Kairat in the 79th minute. No red cards were reported. The numbers backed up the scoreline: six shots on target to two, and an expected goals count of 2.55 to 0.83. Panathinaikos have won both games and top the table with 6 points. Kairat sit 22nd with 1 point, and they host Aktobe in the league on 25 October.
Al Hazm vs Al Fayha (2 - 2)
Al Hazem came from behind to draw 2-2 with Al Fayha in the Pro League, with a penalty a minute before full time saving the point. The hosts led after five minutes when Bonheur Mugisha scored, with Amir Sayoud setting him up. Al Fayha pulled level in the 33rd minute through Fashion Sakala, and the game stayed even until the 69th. Then Sultan Tunkar put the ball into his own net, which gave the visitors a 2-1 lead. That looked set to decide it until Al Hazem won a penalty late on. Sayoud took it himself and scored in the 89th minute to make it 2-2. He had provided the opening goal and also scored the equaliser. The draw, in round 11, lifts Al Hazem to 10 points and 12th place. Al Fayha have 8 points and sit 14th, two places and two points behind their opponents.
Atlético Nacional vs Deportivo Pasto
Atlético Nacional can go top of the Clausura table on Thursday night. They sit second on 26 points, and a win at the Atanasio Girardot would lift them to 29, one clear of América de Cali, who have led since the second round. Deportivo Pasto are last, with nine points from 12 rounds. Neither side arrives in good shape. Nacional lost 1-0 away to Cúcuta, and coach Lucas González said his players were the better team without getting the result. Pasto lost 1-0 to Alianza Valledupar in Diego Merino's first game in charge. They have seven defeats and nine goals scored so far, with two games in which they failed to score. At least a draw would take them off the bottom. Nacional are without Marlos Moreno and Ian Poveda. William Tesillo, Andrés Reyes and Alfredo Morelos trained this week and may return. With the derby against DIM on Sunday, González is expected to rotate, and Franco Armani, whom he calls the best goalkeeper in Colombian football, could come back in goal. Nacional won 2-1 at Pasto in March. Our prediction: 2-0
Flamengo vs Estudiantes
A place in the Libertadores final in Montevideo on 28 November is on the line at the Maracanã, and nothing separates Flamengo and Estudiantes after a goalless first leg in La Plata. A level score after 90 minutes means penalties. The winner meets Palmeiras or Fluminense, and Palmeiras took the first leg of that tie 2-1. Flamengo are unbeaten in this edition and have one win and two draws against Estudiantes. They were second best in La Plata though, with Estudiantes having 21 shots to their five and six on target to none. Rossi made important saves and Léo Pereira cleared a chance almost on the line. Up front, Carrascal, Samuel Lino and Bruno Henrique found no way through on the break. Flamengo are still without Arrascaeta (surgery) and Danilo (broken jaw), and Jorginho was suspended for the first leg. Estudiantes, who lean on set pieces and crosses, are led by Guido Carrillo, with Muslera in goal. Flamengo should do enough at home, but chances may be scarce again. Our prediction: 1-0
Peñarol vs City Torque
Peñarol are the Copa Uruguay holders, and they host Montevideo City Torque in a last-16 tie. The winner then travels to Libertad de San Carlos. In the Clausura, Torque sit third on 22 points and Peñarol fourth on 20, after a point was taken off them for incidents against Nacional. Both lost on 17 October. Peñarol went down 1-0 to Liverpool and Torque lost 2-1 at Albion, a week after Torque had beaten Danubio 1-0. Peñarol won the Intermedio final 5-1 against Wanderers in August. They have already met three times this year. Peñarol won 3-1 in the Apertura and 1-0 in the cup group stage on 26 August, when Eric Remedi scored in the 73rd minute even though Torque had the better of the game. The delayed Clausura fixture ended 1-1. Remedi is the one to follow, given he decided the last cup meeting. Our prediction: 1-0
Pachuca vs Cruz Azul (1 - 2)
Cruz Azul left Estadio Hidalgo with a 2-1 win over Pachuca, settled by a penalty in the closing stages after the home side had pulled level early on. Gabriel Fernandez put the visitors ahead in the 13th minute, finishing a low cross from Alan Mozo. Pachuca were back on terms by the 19th minute through Francisco Venegas, whose shot hit the crossbar on its way in after a through ball from Rodolfo Pizarro. The decider came after a corner, when Fernandez took a blow to the face going for the ball and the referee pointed to the spot. Substitute Andres Montano scored the penalty. Salomon Rondon thought he had made it 2-2 in the 86th minute, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Oussama Idrissi was angry at being substituted and kicked out at the flasks and benches. The result lifts Cruz Azul to third in the overall table, behind America and Chivas. Pachuca are down in 16th with 13 points.
Al Ahli vs Al Khaleej
Al Ahli host Al Khaleej in Jeddah in round 11 of the Pro League, looking to climb from sixth place. They had 15 points from eight games before this round, and a win would keep them close to the sides above. Form favours the hosts. Al Ahli won 4-0 at Al Fateh and then 3-2 at Al Fayha on 19 October, with Artem Bondarenko scoring twice. Ivan Toney leads the league with 11 goals. Zakaria Hawsawi is out with a cruciate ligament injury, and Saleh Abu Al-Shamat was a major doubt at last report. Al Khaleej won 3-2 at Al Fateh on 18 October, with goals from Musa Barrow, Joshua King and Omar Mascarell, but they have won none of their last four away league games. Both meetings with Al Ahli this year finished 4-1 to the Jeddah side. Our prediction: 3-1
Atlas vs América (2 - 5)
América won 5-2 at the Estadio Jalisco, and the game was effectively over before Atlas got a goal back. The visitors led 4-0 by the hour mark. Miguel Borja opened the scoring in the 26th minute and Érick Sánchez made it 2-0 two minutes later. Brian Rodríguez finished a counterattack in the 58th, and Álex Zendejas added a fourth in the 63rd after an Atlas mistake playing out from the back. A VAR check for a handball by Santiago Bueno gave Atlas a penalty, and Luís Esteves scored it in the 73rd. Ryan Mmaee made it 4-2 in the 78th, but Kevin Álvarez restored the three-goal margin a minute later. América began the night top on 24 points and stay there. Atlas, three points off the lead beforehand, saw a four-match unbeaten run end. América have not lost at the Jalisco since 2021.
Levante vs Athletic Bilbao (3 - 1)
Levante won their postponed matchday 6 game 3-1 against Athletic Club at the Ciutat de València. Roger Brugué scored twice in two minutes, and the home side held on through a late Athletic push and a red card for the visitors. Brugué put Levante ahead in the 20th minute, helped by a pass from Dani Requena. He added a second in the 22nd, finishing after a rebound off Unai Simón. Alex Berenguer pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 67th minute. The spot kick came after a foul by Olasagasti and was checked by VAR for nearly five minutes. Six minutes later Aymeric Laporte was sent off for bringing down Requena as the last defender. Athletic never found the equaliser, and in stoppage time Etta Eyong made it 3-1. The game had been called off on 16 September because of weather. The win lifts Levante to 10 points and 11th place, their first league victory since beating Betis 5-2 on 29 August. Athletic stay on 9 points in 13th, winless in the league since 5 September, and host Real Sociedad on 1 November.
Sporting Lisbon vs LASK (2 - 3)
LASK won 3-2 at the Estádio José Alvalade, scoring three times in the second half and hanging on after Sporting CP pulled one back late in a Champions League league phase match. Sporting led after five minutes, when Luis Suárez scored from the penalty spot. Christoph Lang levelled before the interval, with Kasper Jørgensen setting him up. The home side had 62% of the ball and 16 shots to 11, but LASK took the lead in the 63rd minute through Saša Kalajdžić, set up by Robert Ljubičić. Five minutes later Kryštof Daněk made it 3-1 from a Samuel Adeniran pass. Suárez got his second in the 89th minute, but there was no time for a leveller. No red cards were shown, though seven yellows were, five of them to LASK players. Before kick-off Sporting had six points from two games and LASK had none. The Austrian side now have their first three points of the campaign, and Sporting are still on six after three matches.
Real Madrid vs RB Leipzig (4 - 1)
Real Madrid won 4-1 against RB Leipzig at the Bernabéu, and most of the damage came in the last ten minutes. The hosts led 2-0 for a long spell before three goals in five minutes settled it. Bernardo Silva opened the scoring just before half-time (43rd or 44th minute, depending on the source), turning in the rebound after Leipzig keeper Vandevoordt could only parry an Arda Güler shot. Güler got his own on 52 minutes, tapping in from a Kylian Mbappé header. Leipzig stayed in it, with Thibaut Courtois making a one-on-one save from Nkunku before the break. Mbappé made it 3-0 on 83 minutes, finishing a pass from substitute Yan Diomande. Tidiam Gomis pulled one back two minutes later on the counter, only for Diomande, a former Leipzig player, to volley into the top corner on 87 after a ball from Brahim Díaz. Álvaro Carreras and Rocco Reitz were the only players booked. Madrid have won all three of their Champions League games this season, and El Clásico is next. Leipzig have lost two of their three, and they arrived on the back of a 6-1 defeat at Bayern.
Inter Milan vs Shakhtar Donetsk (1 - 0)
Inter beat Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 at San Siro on Wednesday night, and they did it with ten men. It was their first win of this Champions League league phase after defeats to Real Madrid and Club Brugge. Carlos Augusto scored the only goal in the 77th minute. Substitute Henrikh Mkhitaryan played the pass from the centre circle, and the full-back finished with the outside of his boot from 14 yards. The goal came nine minutes after Alessandro Bastoni was sent off. He picked up a booking for a clash with Alisson Santana, then a second for a shove on Oleg Ocheretko after a corner. Shakhtar were the better side early on. Ocheretko and Bonny both went close before the break, and Josep Martinez kept the score level. He made two more saves late on, one a fingertip stop and the other from a close-range header. For Inter the Milan derby comes at the weekend, then a trip to Feyenoord. Shakhtar arrived unbeaten, with a draw at PSV Eindhoven and a win over AEK Athens, and host Sporting Lisbon next.
Club Brugge vs Lens (3 - 0)
Club Brugge beat Lens 3-0 at the Jan Breydel on Wednesday night, despite spending much of the first half under pressure. The visitors had the better chances early on. Franjo Ivanovic hit the post in the 14th minute and Yann Sommer made a string of saves, including one from Junior Kadile just before the interval. Then, in first-half stoppage time, Hans Vanaken followed up a rebound after a corner to make it 1-0. Five minutes into the second half Joaquin Seys missed a clear chance, then put away the loose ball to double the lead. Carlos Forbs finished the job in the 72nd minute. A poor pass from Michael Cuisance let Brugge break, and Forbs ran through and beat the keeper. Brugge now have six points from three games in the league phase. Lens stay on three, with a visit from Sporting CP's conquerors still to come in their remaining five matches, and they have yet to score in the competition away from Prague.
Real Betis vs Feyenoord (1 - 0)
Real Betis beat Feyenoord 1-0 in Seville on Wednesday night, and a penalty from Isco in the 59th minute was the only goal. It was his second winning spot kick in a row, after the 3-2 win over Porto last time out. The penalty was given when St. Juste was judged to have handled a cross from Ezzalzouli. Isco sent Tjark Ernst the wrong way and put the ball low into the bottom right corner. Betis had 23 shots in all, and Ernst made nine saves, with Parrott and Bartra both denied before the break. Feyenoord had their best chance in the 43rd minute, when Zechiël shot from close range and was blocked. Bartra made a key clearance in the 90th minute to protect the lead. Betis have nine points from three games and sit fifth, with a trip to Borussia Dortmund next. Feyenoord have three points and are 26th, and they host Inter in their next match.
