Feyenoord
Feyenoord, founded in 1908 in Rotterdam's working-class harbour district and playing at the iconic De Kuip stadium (51,117 capacity) since 1937, became the first Dutch club to win the European Cup in 1970 by defeating Celtic in Milan, and added the Intercontinental Cup the same year. Known for embodying the blue-collar spirit of Rotterdam in contrast to Ajax's cosmopolitan Amsterdam identity, Feyenoord have won the Eredivisie 16 times, the KNVB Cup 14 times, and two UEFA Cup titles (1974, 2002). Their most recent Eredivisie title arrived in 2017 after an agonising 18-year drought. De Kuip, which has hosted a record ten UEFA club competition finals, is celebrated as one of the most atmospheric stadiums in world football.
