Club Atletico Platense was founded on 1 October 1905 in the Vicente Lopez municipality of Buenos Aires province, Argentina. Known as 'El Calamar' (The Squid) due to the club's coastal location near the Rio de la Plata, Platense competes in the Argentine Primera Division. The team plays its home matches at the Estadio Ciudad de Vicente Lopez, with a capacity of around 18,000 spectators.
