São Tomé e Príncipe

The São Tomé and Príncipe national football team represents the small island nation in the Gulf of Guinea and competes under the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Governed by the Federação Santomense de Futebol, the team participates in AFCON qualifiers and FIFA World Cup qualifiers. São Tomé and Príncipe gained FIFA membership in 1986 and has since competed in African qualifying competitions, though the limited population base of around 200,000 presents significant challenges in squad depth. The team plays home matches at the Estádio Nacional 12 de Julho in São Tomé. Despite limited resources, the nation has developed youth football structures and produced players who compete in Portuguese leagues. The side is affectionately known as the Falcões (Falcons) and wear green and yellow, mirroring the national flag.
