Go Ahead Eagles

Go Ahead Eagles, founded in 1902 in Deventer, Netherlands, is one of the oldest football clubs in the country. Competing in the Eredivisie, the club plays its home matches at De Adelaarshorst stadium. Known simply as 'Eagles,' the club's motto 'Go Ahead' was adopted from English workers who helped build railways in the region in the early twentieth century. Go Ahead Eagles has a rich history, having won the Dutch championship four times in the early decades of professional football. The club is known for its passionate local support and its ability to develop young talent. Their yellow and red colours have become iconic in Deventer, where the club holds a cherished place in the community's sporting heritage.
