NEC Nijmegen vs Go Ahead Eagles

It took barely ten minutes for this one to settle into its final shape. At the Goffertstadion, Nijmegen and G.A. Eagles traded blows in a frantic opening burst before the game cooled into a share of the spoils, 1-1. Perr Schuurs got the home side moving inside the 2nd minute, heading home a pinpoint Tjaronn Chery delivery to send the Goffert into an early frenzy. The lead lasted just eight minutes, as Stefan Ingi Sigurdarson restored parity for the visitors in the 10th. From there the game settled, though Soren Tengstedt and Thibo Baeten both picked up bookings for the Eagles in the second half as the visitors pushed for a winner. Neither side could find a breakthrough after that opening flurry, with Nijmegen edging the shot count while G.A. Eagles carried the more dangerous chances. A fair result on the balance of play, it leaves both clubs with a point to build on as the Eredivisie season continues.
