The team plays home matches at the Stadionul Zimbru in Chișinău. Moldova's most notable player is Alexandru Epureanu, a long-serving captain and central defender who played across Europe. The team has also included players such as Artem Milanov and Ion Testemițanu. In recent UEFA Nations League campaigns, Moldova has competed in League D and shown glimpses of improvement. The federation focuses on developing domestic talent to eventually reach a major international tournament for the first time.
