VfL Bochum is a German football club founded in 1938 and based in Bochum, an industrial city in the Ruhr region of North Rhine-Westphalia. The club plays its home matches at the Vonovia Ruhrstadion. Bochum is widely celebrated as one of the most resilient clubs in German football, known for repeatedly bouncing between the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga.
