Match Preview

Sporting CP sit third in the Primeira Liga, unbeaten through seven rounds with 15 points, and go into this trip to Braga full of momentum. The hosts sit sixth on 11 points after a solid but uneven start. With Porto and Benfica setting the pace at the top, both clubs need points to stay in the title conversation, making this an early test of where each side really stands this season. Sporting arrive on the back of a 3-1 Champions League win over Galatasaray, with new striker Luis Suárez settling in nicely as the replacement for Viktor Gyökeres. There's an extra edge too: Rodrigo Zalazar, Braga's former talisman who left for Sporting in a record €30 million transfer this summer, could line up against his old club. Braga still rely heavily on captain Ricardo Horta up front. The head-to-head has been close lately, with the last meeting finishing 2-2 back in March. Our prediction: 1-2
