Match Report
China proved too strong for Singapore at Jalan Besar Stadium, claiming a 2-1 friendly victory despite a spirited late fight-back from the Lions.
Sai Erjini'ao opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a well-directed header from a cross by Xie Wenneng. China doubled their lead just before half-time when Zhang Yuning calmly converted a penalty in the 41st minute — awarded after Hariss Harun was penalised for a handball inside the area. No red cards were shown, but yellow cards were handed out to Wang Shangyuan and Hami Syahin. Singapore refused to fold, and Ilhan Fandi gave the home fans something to cheer with a composed left-footed finish from the centre of the box in the 76th minute.
The result gives China a confidence boost heading into upcoming fixtures, while Singapore can take real positives from their second-half response — even if the comeback fell just short.
