Liberia vs Libya
Match Report
Liberia produced a spirited second-half comeback to rescue a 2-2 draw against Libya in an international friendly at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia on Tuesday.
Libya looked to be cruising after M. Al Musrati struck in the 44th minute before E. Faraj doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time. The visitors' plans unravelled early in the second half, though, when Ahmed Shuweishin was shown a straight red card in the 51st minute.
Down to ten men, Libya could not hold on. O. Dorley pulled one back for the hosts in the 76th minute, and Prince Balde completed the fightback with a close-range finish in the 82nd to send the Monrovia crowd wild.
The result will give Liberia plenty of belief heading into their upcoming fixtures, while Libya will be left wondering how they let a comfortable two-goal cushion slip away.
