Match Report
Sarmiento proved that sometimes less is more, beating Aldosivi 2-0 at the Estadio Eva Perón despite playing with ten men for almost an hour. It was a gritty, defiant performance from the hosts on matchday 12 of the Apertura.
Sarmiento were reduced to ten when striker Diego Churín was sent off in the 34th minute following a VAR review for a reckless challenge on Román Villalba. Rather than shrink, the hosts responded — Cristian Zabala broke the deadlock right on the stroke of half-time with a deflected effort that wrong-footed keeper Axel Werner.
Despite dominating possession in the second half, Aldosivi couldn't find a way through. Jonathan Marabel sealed the deal in the 86th minute, sparking celebrations across Junín and picking up a yellow card for his troubles.
The win gives Sarmiento back-to-back victories and a timely push up the Zone B table, while Aldosivi head back to Mar del Plata empty-handed and with questions to answer.
