Match Report
Sporting CP thought they had this one wrapped up — then Tondela scored twice in four minutes of stoppage time to snatch a stunning 2-2 draw at Alvalade.
Luis Suárez opened the scoring on 62 minutes, coolly turning in a cross, before an own goal from João Silva doubled the lead on 78 minutes. The result seemed certain — until Rui Silva denied Makan Aïko's penalty in added time, only for Salvador Blopa to turn the ball into his own net from the resulting corner (90+2'). Cícero then powered home a header to complete the improbable comeback just two minutes later (90+4').
The collapse leaves Sporting CP third with 73 points — nine behind leaders Porto and winless in three straight league games, making the title race all but over. For Tondela, sitting 17th with 22 points, it was a precious rescue that keeps their top-flight survival fight very much alive.
