Brighton made the trip to Turf Moor count with a polished 2-0 victory, as Mats Wieffer delivered a match-winning brace to deepen Burnley's relegation misery. Wieffer broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute, finishing calmly from the centre of the box after a sharp four-pass move ended with an assist from Pascal Gross. Earlier, Jaidon Sancho had a goal ruled out for offside, and Danny Welbeck's close-range effort was well saved by Martin Dúbravka. The second half was controlled but tense — Maxime Estève and Florentino both picked up yellow cards for the hosts — before Kaoru Mitoma won possession near the box and teed up Wieffer to finish coolly with his right foot in the 89th minute. Brighton climb to 46 points, just one behind the European qualification places, keeping their continental hopes very much alive.
