AS Roma vs US Lecce
Match Report
AS Roma ground out a vital 1-0 win over Lecce at the Stadio Olimpico, with substitute Robinio Vaz netting his first goal in Giallorossi colours to end a difficult run of form.
Vaz replaced Neil El Aynaoui in the 51st minute and needed just six minutes to make his mark. Mario Hermoso delivered a cross from the left byline and the former Marseille man powered home a header at the back post.
Lecce nearly snatched a point in the 73rd minute when Konan N'Dri forced a save from Mile Svilar, only for Hermoso to produce a stunning goal-line clearance to deny Santiago Pierotti's follow-up. Nicolò Pisilli had earlier seen a first-half strike ruled out for offside.
The win lifts Roma level with Juventus in joint fifth on 54 points, within touching distance of Como on 57. For Lecce, defeat deepens their relegation worries.
