Montserrat

The Montserrat national football team represents one of the smallest territories in world football, a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean with a population of only around 4,500 people. Governed by the Montserrat Football Association and affiliated with FIFA and CONCACAF, the team was famously the subject of the 2002 'Other Final' documentary, which staged a match between the two lowest-ranked FIFA teams, Montserrat and Bhutan, played on the same day as the 2002 World Cup Final. Montserrat participates in CONCACAF Nations League and Caribbean Cup qualifiers. Home matches are played at the Blakes Estate Stadium. Despite the enormous challenges of competing with a tiny population and limited resources, the team has shown gradual improvement through CONCACAF development programs and dedicated volunteer football administration.
