Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers FC, founded in 1875, is one of England's founding football clubs and a founding member of the Football League in 1888, based in Blackburn, Lancashire, in northwest England. Competing in the Championship, the club plays at Ewood Park. Known as Rovers, Blackburn achieved their greatest modern triumph by winning the Premier League title in the 1994-95 season under manager Kenny Dalglish, fuelled by the goals of Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton and the financial backing of local businessman Jack Walker. The club has also won the FA Cup six times and the League Cup once. Currently owned by Venky's, an Indian poultry company, Blackburn continue to develop young talent while seeking a return to the Premier League with a direct, physical style of play.
