Manchester City Football Club, tracing its origins to 1880 and playing at the 52,900-capacity Etihad Stadium in east Manchester — currently being expanded to over 61,000 — was transformed into one of the world's most powerful clubs following Sheikh Mansour's 2008 takeover.
