The Egypt national football team, known as the Pharaohs, is one of Africa's most decorated sides, governed by the Egyptian Football Association. Egypt has won the Africa Cup of Nations a record seven times, including three consecutive titles from 2006 to 2010. They qualified for the FIFA World Cup in 1934, 1990, and 2018. Their home ground is Cairo International Stadium, though matches are also played at other venues across the country. Legendary players include Hossam Hassan, Africa's all-time leading scorer for decades, as well as Ahmed Hassan and modern star Mohamed Salah, currently one of the world's finest forwards. Egypt is a founding member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and has consistently been among the continent's strongest footballing nations.
