Brazil vs Egypt

Brazil signed off their World Cup preparations with a 2-1 win over Egypt at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland. The decisive moment arrived just after halftime when substitute Endrick converted Raphinha's pull-back with a clinical first-time finish, a poacher's goal that underlined the teenager's World Cup value. Bruno Guimarães broke the deadlock in the 6th minute after capitalising on a defensive error, but Mostafa Ziko quickly levelled for Egypt by punishing a wayward Marquinhos back-pass. The first half also saw Wesley hobble off with a groin injury, while goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir kept his side in the contest with a string of sharp saves before Endrick settled matters in the 50th minute. Brazil head into the tournament with confidence and squad depth on show. Egypt can take heart from a competitive display, and Mohamed Salah's lively second-half cameo was a timely reminder of the attacking threat they bring to the World Cup.
