The Canada national football team, known as the Canucks or Les Rouges, is governed by Canada Soccer and affiliated with FIFA and CONCACAF. Founded in 1912, Canada made history by winning the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup and qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar — their first World Cup appearance since 1986. Led by a golden generation including Alphonso Davies, Jonathan David, and Cyle Larin, Canada finished atop the CONCACAF Octagonal qualifying rounds in dominant fashion. The team plays home matches at venues across Canada, including BMO Field in Toronto. Head coach John Herdman was central to the team's remarkable rise. Canada continues to be a force in CONCACAF and is co-hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside the United States and Mexico.
