Club Atlético River Plate, founded on May 25, 1901, in Buenos Aires and nicknamed Los Millonarios for their early lavish spending on talent, plays at El Monumental — an 85,000-capacity arena in the Belgrano neighbourhood, Argentina's largest stadium and host of the 1978 World Cup final.
