Club Atlético Lanús was founded in 1915 in the Lanús municipality of Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina. The club competes in the Liga Profesional Argentina and plays home matches at the Estadio Ciudad de Lanús – Néstor Díaz Pérez, which holds over 46,000 spectators. Known as "El Granate" for their distinctive deep red colours, Lanús has been a consistent presence in Argentine top-flight football. The club won its only Primera División title in 2007 under coach Frank Kudelka and reached the Copa Libertadores final in 2017, showcasing its regional ambitions. Notable players such as Diego Milito began their careers at the club. Lanús is known for developing young talent and maintaining competitive squads despite modest resources compared to Argentina's traditional powerhouses.
