Defensa y Justicia
Club Social y Deportivo Defensa y Justicia was founded in 1935 in Florencio Varela, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. The club competes in the Liga Profesional Argentina and plays home matches at the Estadio Norberto Tito Tomaghello, which holds 20,000 spectators. Known as El Halcón (The Falcon), Defensa y Justicia rose to national and international prominence under coach Hernán Crespo, winning the Copa Sudamericana in 2020 — their greatest achievement. That triumph was followed by the Recopa Sudamericana in 2021. The club has become widely admired for its commitment to attractive, attacking football and a well-run youth academy that develops talent for sale to top European clubs. Despite being a smaller club from the Greater Buenos Aires suburbs, Defensa y Justicia has punched well above its weight in both domestic and continental competition.
