Spartak Moskva

FC Spartak Moscow, founded on April 18, 1922, and playing at the modern 45,360-capacity Lukoil Arena since 2014, is the most successful club in Russian and Soviet football combined with a record 22 top-division titles — including 9 of the first 10 Russian Premier League championships after the Soviet Union's dissolution. Known as 'the People's Team' due to their independence from state institutions, Spartak were shaped by the visionary Starostin brothers and developed a philosophy of technical, attacking football that brought European semi-final appearances in the 1990s under Oleg Romantsev. Legendary figures include captain Igor Netto, all-time top scorer Nikita Simonyan, and the beloved Fyodor Cherenkov, widely regarded as the finest player in the club's history. They remain Russia's most supported club across all generations.
