Known as El Ciclon del Barrio Obrero, the club plays its home matches at La Nueva Olla stadium, with a capacity of around 45,000. Cerro has won the Paraguayan Primera Division title over 30 times, making them one of the most decorated clubs in the country alongside Olimpia. The club has competed regularly in the CONMEBOL Libertadores, reaching the semi-finals on multiple occasions.
