Pumas UNAM
Club Universidad Nacional, known as Pumas UNAM, was founded in 1954 and is affiliated with the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), one of the largest universities in Latin America. Based in Mexico City, they play at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario, which hosted the 1968 Olympic football final and holds over 72,000 spectators. Pumas have won seven Liga MX titles, with their most successful era coming in the 1970s and early 1980s. They reached the FIFA Club World Cup in 2004, finishing fourth. The club is renowned for developing homegrown talent and has produced several Mexican internationals over the decades, including Jorge Campos, Hugo Sánchez (early career), and more recently players like Guillermo Ochoa. Pumas are celebrated for their university identity, distinct blue-and-gold colors, and passionate fan base across Mexico.
