Wales vs Denmark

Denmark edged out Wales 0-1 at Cardiff City Stadium, with the game turning on a costly goalkeeping error deep into the second half. Rasmus Højlund converted the game's only goal from the penalty spot in the 75th minute, after Danny Ward's loose touch let Gustav Isaksen pounce, only for the keeper to bring him down as he tried to recover. Ward partly redeemed himself with a fine save to push an Isaksen header onto the post, but it wasn't enough. Denmark had already been shaken early on when captain Pierre-Emile Højbjerg went off injured inside the opening ten minutes, while Wales lost Ben Cabango to a second yellow late on. The result handed Denmark back-to-back wins over Wales and kept their Nations League campaign on track, even without their skipper for most of the night. For Craig Bellamy's Wales, it was a third defeat in four Nations League matches, though they still sit third in the group on head-to-head terms.
