Cruzeiro vs Barcelona

Match Report
Cruzeiro dismantled Barcelona SC 4-0 at the Mineirão to close out Group H of the Copa Libertadores on Thursday. Matheus Pereira was the undisputed star, scoring either side of half-time — an early header and a spectacular 71st-minute bicycle kick.
The Brazilians were in control from the 4th minute when Pereira's header drew first blood. After the interval the action came thick and fast: a Kaio Jorge strike was ruled out by VAR for offside, before Christian Alves Cardoso made it 2-0 in the 52nd minute and Juan Fernando Sinisterra burst through on the counter three minutes later to add a third. Both sides accumulated yellow cards throughout, but no one was sent off.
Cruzeiro advance to the round of 16 in emphatic form. For Barcelona SC, it's a sorry end to a miserable campaign — just one win from six group games and an early exit from all South American competition in 2026.
