Morocco vs Mali

Morocco couldn't quite finish their October window on a high, settling for a 1-1 friendly draw against Mali at a packed Grand Stade de Tanger. The Atlas Lions looked set for a third straight win after dominating the opening half, but a second-half fightback from the Eagles denied them. Ezzalzouli opened the scoring in the 35th minute from the penalty spot after being brought down by Haidara inside the box, sending the home crowd into raptures. Mali stayed patient and were rewarded in the 77th minute when Diarra finished off a cross from Dante to level things up. Morocco boss Mohamed Ouahbi threw on Brahim Díaz and Soufiane Rahimi late on in search of a winner, but Mali held firm until the final whistle. For Morocco, the draw still caps a solid window of two wins and a point, with Ouahbi using the fixture to experiment with his squad ahead of 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying. For Mali, the comeback point offers encouragement after stepping in as a late replacement opponent, showing they can compete with one of the continent's top sides.
