Match Report
Algeria came from behind to beat Niger 2-1 in a lively friendly at the Hocine Aït Ahmed Stadium, with a second-half turnaround deciding things after the visitors had led at the break. The Nigeriens drew first blood through a deflected strike that caught the goalkeeper out, but the hosts steadily grew into the game and eventually found their rhythm after the interval.
Konan N'Dri put Niger ahead in the 15th minute, driving across goal from the left before the ball took a wicked deflection past the keeper. Algeria leveled through Mohamed Belloumi in the 55th minute, curling a free kick into the top corner. The winner arrived in the 70th minute when Ramy Bensebaini converted a penalty after Adil Boulbina was brought down in the box, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way. Boulbina was later booked for dissent in the 85th minute, while Ramdane produced a key late save to preserve the lead.
It was a solid workout for Algeria, who showed character to overturn a halftime deficit and finish the international break on a high. For Niger, there were promising signs in attack despite falling to a narrow defeat against stronger opposition.
