Egypt vs South Africa

South Africa edged out Egypt in Cairo, holding firm against the hosts at Cairo International Stadium in Sunday's friendly. The standout moment arrived early, when goalkeeper Sipho Chaine produced a brilliant reaction save in the 11th minute to deny Ziko a close-range opener and keep the scoreline level. The breakthrough came just after the hour, with Puso Dithejane scoring in the 51st minute for the only goal of the game. South Africa picked up two bookings along the way, Brooklyn Poggenpoel in the 31st minute and Khulumani Ndamane in the 55th, while Egypt pushed forward through Omar Marmoush and Ibrahim Adel. A late header from Hamza Abdelkarim in the 90th minute drifted wide, sparing South Africa a nervy finish. For Egypt, missing a rested Mohamed Salah, it's a frustrating result after dominating long spells. For South Africa and coach Pitso Mosimane, back in the city where he once managed Al Ahly, the win offers a timely confidence boost.
