Víkingur Reykjavík vs FK Borac Banja Luka

Borac Banja Luka raced into a two-goal cushion inside the opening half hour and never let go, beating Vikingur Reykjavik 3-1 in the first leg of their Conference League playoff. It leaves the hosts with work to do before the return leg. Luka Juricic's brace either side of the break was the story of the night. Juricic opened the scoring in the 21st minute, and Milos Jojic doubled the lead just two minutes later. Vikingur pulled one back through a Gylfi Sigurdsson penalty in the 75th minute, but Juricic restored the two-goal margin with his second in the 86th minute. Four players were booked - Nikolaj Hansen, Anderson Esiti, Amer Hiros and Valdimar Ingimundarson - but no one was sent off. The win leaves Borac in firm control of the tie heading into the second leg in Banja Luka, while Vikingur must now produce a big away performance to stay in it.
