Panathinaikos needed extra time and a stoppage-time penalty to see off Hradec Kralove, grinding out a 1-2 win in the Conference League play-off return leg to progress 4-3 on aggregate. The hosts pushed the Greeks all the way and were seconds from penalties before the tie swung late. Cyriel Dessers broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute, only for Vladimir Darida to drag Hradec level with a stoppage-time equalizer in the 90+2nd minute, forcing extra time. Dessers then struck from the spot in the 120+5th minute to complete his brace and settle it. Tempers boiled over as David Horejs was sent off for Hradec in the 120+6th minute. It's a cruel exit for Hradec Kralove, whose first European run since 1995/96 ends short of the lucrative league phase despite fighting back twice across the tie. Panathinaikos move on battered but alive, with Dessers again the difference-maker.
