Panathinaikos vs Hradec Králové

Panathinaikos looked set for a comfortable first-leg win in this Conference League play-off, only to see it slip away in stoppage time against Hradec Kralove. The Greek side dominated for long stretches, but the Czech visitors produced a stunning late rally to snatch a 2-2 draw in Athens. Andrews Tetteh did the early damage, scoring twice inside six minutes (55' and 61') to put the hosts firmly in control. It looked to be job done for Panathinaikos, but Abdullahi Umar turned the game on its head with two goals of his own in the 89th and 96th minutes, the second assisted by Filip Cihák deep into added time. Yellow cards were shown to Santino Andino and Étienne Camara for the home side, though no red cards or penalties were involved. The draw leaves the tie wide open ahead of the second leg on 27 August. Panathinaikos will be frustrated to have let a two-goal cushion slip, while Hradec Kralove take huge momentum from their late escape into the return fixture.
