Match Report
Crvena zvezda crashed out of Champions League qualifying at home, falling 0-2 to H. Beer Sheva at the Rajko Mitić Stadium and losing the tie 0-3 on aggregate after already trailing from the first leg in Szombathely. The Belgrade side pushed for most of the first half but couldn't break through, and the game swung firmly in the visitors' favor after the interval.
Igor Zlatanović put the Israeli champions ahead in the 61st minute, finishing off a Javon East assist, before East turned provider into scorer himself in the 79th, converting a pass from Eliel Peretz to make it 2-0. Itay Rotman was booked early for Zvezda, while Niv Yehoshua picked up a caution for Beer Sheva. The night ended sourly for the hosts as Mohammad Abu Fani was shown a straight red card in stoppage time for violent conduct, capping a miserable evening in Belgrade.
For H. Beer Sheva, the result caps a fine qualifying campaign and sends them into the next round with real momentum. Crvena zvezda, by contrast, will have to regroup after a qualifying exit that ends their European ambitions at this stage, with plenty of questions to answer following Abu Fani's dismissal and a flat attacking display at home.
