Sochi spoiled the party in Khimki, edging Torpedo Moscow 1-2 in a swinging Round 5 clash at Arena Khimki. The visitors struck first and looked the sharper side for long stretches, but the hosts refused to fold, leveling right at the death of the first half to set up a tense second 45 minutes. Aleksandr Osipov opened the scoring in the 26th minute, and Sergey Borodin dragged Torpedo level with a stoppage-time strike in the 45th, sending the sides in level at the break. The decisive blow came from Ruslan Magal, who restored Sochi's lead in the 77th minute and made it stand.
