RCD Espanyol vs Sevilla
Match Report
Espanyol and Sevilla shared the points in a wild finish at the RCDE Stadium, with a stoppage-time equalizer denying the visitors what looked like a stunning win despite playing over half the match a man light.
Sevilla were reduced to ten men in the 56th minute when Sangante was sent off for hauling down Roberto Fernández as he broke clear on goal. Espanyol thought they'd made the extra man count when Omar El Hilali put the ball in the net, but VAR chalked it off for offside. Against the run of play, substitute Stassin fired Sevilla ahead in the 85th minute, only for Marcos Fernández to snatch a dramatic leveler in the 98th minute to spare Espanyol's blushes.
The draw lifts Sevilla to seventh with seven points, a solid return given the numerical disadvantage. Espanyol move to 11th on four points, ending a winless run but left to rue the missed chances that should have delivered all three.
