Match Report
Colombia kept their World Cup 2026 run rolling with a composed 1-0 win over Ghana in the Round of 32, Jhon Arias's early finish doing all the damage on a sweltering night in Kansas City.
The goal arrived in the 13th minute. Jhon Córdoba had gone off injured inside the first few minutes, bringing Luis Suárez on ahead of schedule — and it was Suárez who whipped in the cross that Arias guided home at the near post. Luis Díaz thought he'd doubled the lead in the 57th, but was flagged for offside — the third disallowance of his tournament. Johan Mojica also struck the post with a header shortly after half-time, while Ghana failed to register a single shot on target the entire game.
The result — Colombia's third consecutive clean sheet — told the full story. Néstor Lorenzo's side advance to face Switzerland in the last 16, while Ghana exit having barely troubled the Colombian backline.
