France made the World Cup Round of 32 look routine, brushing aside Sweden 3-0 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey to advance to the last sixteen with clinical authority. Kylian Mbappé was the undeniable star of the night, bagging a brace to silence any doubters. The opening goal arrived just before the break as Mbappé punished Sweden's defence in the 45th minute. Bradley Barcola extended the lead eight minutes into the second half after a superb assist from Michael Olise, who also unlocked Sweden again for Mbappé's second on 74 minutes. Olise himself struck the post with a stunning bicycle kick earlier in the half. No red cards or penalties clouded an otherwise dominant display.
