Kortrijk finally have something to celebrate this season, edging Beveren 1-0 in a match turned on its head by an early red card. It marked a dream first game in charge for interim boss Christophe Lepoint, snapping a six-match losing run in style. The turning point came in the 32nd minute when Beveren goalkeeper Johannes Schenk was sent off for clipping Sixtus Ogbuehi outside the box. Reduced to ten men, Beveren held firm for a while, but Shandre Campbell kept probing and, despite missing two good chances himself, set up the winner in the 52nd minute when substitute keeper Josua Lusamba failed to hold his cross, allowing Jamie Roche to fire home. For Kortrijk, it's a much-needed lift off the bottom of the table with their first points and first goal in over 370 minutes. Beveren, meanwhile, extended their winless run away from home to four straight defeats, leaving them stuck in mid-table with all their points coming at home.
