Match Preview

It's opening day in the Jupiler Pro League, and both sides have plenty to prove. Zulte Waregem scraped through last season's relegation play-offs and want a calmer campaign, while Genk arrive chasing a top-four finish and a return to Europe. New boss Michael Beale takes charge of a Waregem side short on firepower after losing Joseph Opoku to Swansea and Jeppe Erenbjerg to today's opponents, leaving midfielder Thomas Claes to carry much of the creative load. Genk, meanwhile, have Jess Thorup back for a second spell and have invested in club-record signing Rafiu Durosinmi to replace departed striker Tolu Arokodare, with full-back Zakaria El Ouahdi still their standout performer. Genk hold a dominant head-to-head record over Waregem and look the sharper, better-resourced side on paper. Our prediction: 1-2
