Rangers vs Motherwell

Rangers ground out a 1-0 win over Motherwell at Ibrox, though the story of the day started before kickoff barely settled: captain Lawrence Shankland was forced off with a knee injury after just four minutes, bringing on Ryan Naderi, who wasted no time making an impact. Naderi struck in the 12th minute, pouncing after Alex Paulsen tried to dribble out of his own box and lost possession, rolling the ball home for the only goal of the game. Rangers had a golden chance to double their lead in the 29th minute when Tom Sparrow fouled Gassama for a penalty, but Kim Min-su blazed his spot-kick wide. Kevin Kelsy and Daizuke Yokota also spurned late opportunities to settle things. Motherwell, who had won at Ibrox in each of the previous three seasons, controlled long spells with 65 per cent first-half possession and forced saves from goalkeeper Ivor Pandur, but their unbeaten start to the campaign came to an end. Rangers, by contrast, made it three straight league wins and continue to build momentum.
