PSV vs Sparta Rotterdam

PSV brushed aside Sparta Rotterdam 4-1 at Philips Stadion, with Sven Mijnans stealing the show against his former club with a second-half hat-trick that vaulted the champions to the top of the Eredivisie table. It didn't start well for the hosts: Milan Zonneveld punished a horror error from keeper Matej Kovář to slot into an empty net in the 16th minute. PSV hit back before the break, with Mijnans heading home an Esmir Bajraktarevic cross in the 23rd minute before Kodai Sano curled in a 20-yard strike in the 39th to make it 2-1. Mijnans then took over, pouncing on a rebound after Michael Brouwer parried Wanner's shot in the 74th minute, then curling home a placed finish in the 88th to complete his treble. The win puts PSV top of the Eredivisie ahead of AZ on goal difference, reinforcing their bid for a third straight title. For Sparta, it's a tough result on the road that leaves plenty of work to do in the lower half of the table.
