FC Twente vs ADO Den Haag

FC Twente marked their 2,000th Eredivisie match with a comfortable 2-0 win over ADO Den Haag at home, though it took until the hour mark to break the deadlock despite dominating for long stretches. Sondre Ørjasæter had rattled the post early on, and Wout Weghorst saw a header saved, before the breakthrough finally came. The opener arrived in the 60th minute when Othniël Raterink fouled Daouda Weidmann in the box, and Weghorst stepped up to convert the resulting penalty, visibly emotional after missing a similar chance against Telstar. Robin Pröpper then headed home from a corner in the 75th minute to put the result beyond doubt. The penalty call sparked plenty of debate among fans and pundits afterwards. The win lifts Twente to third place with 13 points from six games, while Den Haag remain rooted to the bottom with just a single point, still searching for their first league victory of the season.
