PSV vs Fortuna Sittard

PSV's Eredivisie title defense got off to a nervy start as Fortuna Sittard struck deep into stoppage time to snatch a 2-2 draw at the Philips Stadion. Despite dominating for long spells, PSV couldn't see out the win after a shaky defensive display let the visitors back in. Flamingo made amends himself, equalizing in the 55th minute, before Noah Fernandez put PSV ahead in the 74th minute on the break. But Édouard Michut had the final say, curling in a stunning equalizer in the 92nd minute. The result leaves PSV with plenty to fix defensively just days after a heavy Johan Cruijff Shield loss, denting confidence at the start of their title defense. Fortuna Sittard, by contrast, will be delighted to open the season with an away point earned through sheer late-game resilience.
