Match Report
Panama ran out comfortable 4-2 winners over Dominican Republic in an entertaining international friendly at Rommel Fernández Stadium, with a late Kadir Barría strike in the 89th minute putting the seal on a dominant home performance.
Tomás Rodríguez broke the deadlock in the 16th minute, and Víctor Griffith doubled the lead just before half-time. Dominican Republic responded quickly after the restart, Mariano Díaz pulling one back in the 47th minute, but Cecilio Waterman restored the two-goal margin in the 57th minute. Erick Japa halved the deficit again at 3-2 in the 67th minute, threatening a tense finish — only for Barría to end the contest with his late goal. No red cards or penalties were awarded.
With the World Cup around the corner, Panama will take real confidence from a clinical display, while Dominican Republic showed encouraging attacking spark but left with defensive questions still to answer.
