Rodina Moscow produced a dramatic late winner at Arena Khimki to edge out Ufa 1-0 in the Russian First League's 31st round. The result was all the more remarkable given that Rodina spent over half an hour with ten men. The trouble started when Artem Meshchanin was dismissed in the 65th minute, leaving Rodina seemingly destined for a point at best. Ufa couldn't capitalise on the advantage, however, and Artem Maksimenko punished them with a goal deep in injury time — 90+5 — to hand the hosts all three points. The victory lifts Rodina to second place in the standings on 59 points, just one behind leaders Fakel Voronezh with games running out. For Ufa, rooted in 15th on 31 points, this was another damaging blow in what is shaping up to be a very difficult end to the campaign.
