Match Report

Rotor Volgograd made the journey east worthwhile with a composed 1-2 away win over SKA Khabarovsk in Round 29 of Russia's PARI First League. The hero was Imran Aznaurov, who bagged both goals in a frantic opening half to give Rotor a vital three points. Aznaurov broke the deadlock in just the 6th minute, but SKA hit back smartly through Jacobo Alcalde in the 18th to level. The equaliser barely lasted — Aznaurov struck again in the 26th to restore the visitors' lead and effectively decide the contest. Bookings added some edge: Gleb Shilnikov was cautioned for Rotor in the 21st minute, while SKA's Demyan Ilyev saw yellow right on the stroke of half-time. The result keeps Rotor's excellent spring run going under manager Dmitry Parfenov, who has now steered his side through seven spring games without defeat. For SKA Khabarovsk, it is a seventh successive match without a win — a stretch that is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
