Match Preview

It doesn't get bigger than this. Czech Republic host Denmark at the EPET Arena in Prague with a 2026 World Cup spot on the line in this UEFA playoff final — one game, winner takes all. The hosts scraped through their semifinal the hard way, trailing Ireland 2-0 before Patrik Schick converted from the spot and captain Ladislav Krejčí headed home late to force a penalty shootout. Denmark arrived here in far more convincing fashion, thumping North Macedonia 4-0 as Gustav Isaksen bagged a brace and Mikkel Damsgaard pulled the strings. The Danes are missing Kasper Schmeichel and several defenders to injury, but still boast serious firepower through Rasmus Højlund and captain Pierre-Emile Højbjerg. Czechia haven't beaten Denmark in seven meetings since EURO 2004, though Prague has been a fortress — unbeaten at home throughout qualifying. Expect a tight, nervy affair. Denmark's superior quality should just about edge it, but the hosts won't go quietly. Our prediction: 1-2.
